“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; 32 but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
I am a disciple of Christ and I am always amazed at myself when I sin. I know better, I have been taught better and I have been led better than to go against God’s Word. But I do it anyway. Is that not amazing? What should I be aware of that causes me to sin?
This scripture teaches us a truth that we cannot fail to recognize. We have a powerful enemy who is laying traps all around our life to lead us away from God. He knows our weaknesses and he is able to exploit them in ways we can only imagine.
We need to understand that our enemy is Satan. He wants us to fail. He wants us to feel the guilt of sin and tell ourselves that we cannot access the forgiveness of God. He is cunning and smart. He has plans for us every moment of our lives. His plans are for us to fail.
God want us to be a success in our lives in the obedience of His Word. God wants me to live an abundant life and recognize that He is there to forgive me when I ask and do a U-turn to my sin. He sent Jesus for me to follow as my teacher. He sent Jesus to live the abundant life. He sent Jesus to give the words of eternal life. He sent Jesus, who died for my sins as the sacrifice. God and Jesus love me. What more evidence do I need? God wants me to succeed in life.
Satan has plans for my life. God has plans for my life. What should I be planning for my life?
